Jimmy Kimmel will to speak with the British people this year in The Alternative Christmas message airing on Channel 4 on Christmas Day, the network announced on Sunday, December 21.
The annual broadcast is the U.K. network’s answer to the traditional royal message, delivered by King Charles III, and usually given by a celebrity or public figure who addresses current events. Previous presenters have included the former President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad; whistle-blower Edward Snowden; and Afghan war veteran Major Andrew Stockton.

The late-night host — who was taken off the air in September 2025 following comments made in the wake of the murder of Charlie Kirk, leading to widespread protest and debate in the USA about freedom of speech and freedom of the press — “will reflect on the past few months in a deeply personal and characteristically jovial address,” the channel announced.
The comedian, 58, has also made headlines for butting heads with President Donald Trump.
“From a fascism perspective, this has been a really great year,” Kimmel will tell viewers, the network revealed.
