Kevin Spacey is reaching out to every contact he can think of to try and drum up support for his Hollywood comeback, a source tells the National Enquirer.
The two-time Oscar winner, 66, was hit with a wave of sexual misconduct allegations in 2017. He denied the claims and was ultimately acquitted of all nine charges, per The New York Post.
“Kevin feels like he’s been punished for long enough … and he’s sure that if he’s given the right opportunity he can climb out of this pit,” says the source.
According to IMDB, Spacey currently has five new projects in the works.
“The offers have slowly been coming back,” notes the source. “But what he needs is a mega-hit and not just so he can prove himself again but also just from a financial standpoint because he’s pretty much lost everything and he’s desperate to get his old lifestyle back.”
“I will be incredibly honored and delighted when that level of talent picks up the phone,” he said. “And I believe it’s going to happen.”
The former House of Cards star “knows not everyone is going to forgive or forget, but he’s convinced that all it takes is one influential person taking a chance on him and everything could change,” adds the source. “A lot of friends turned their back on him, but he’s humbling himself and calling anyway, hoping that enough time has passed.”
