Authorities are searching for the remains of 7-month-old Emmanuel Haro after his parents were arrested on suspicion of murder, KTLA5 reports.
As National Enquirer previously reported, Jake and Rebecca Haro were taken into custody on Friday, August 22, at their Cabazon, California home a little over a week after Rebecca reported to police that she had been physically assaulted, and their son had been kidnapped in the parking lot of a Big 5 store in nearby Yucaipa.
Upon investigation, the kidnapping story began to unravel, leading police to treat Jake, 32, and Rebecca, 41, as murder suspects.

“It is believed Emmauel [sic] is deceased and the search to recover his remains is ongoing,” reads a statement issued by the San Bernardino County sheriff’s office on the day of the arrests. “Both suspects were booked in a Riverside County jail without bail. No other arrests have been made, and no suspects remain outstanding.”
Prior to the arrests, investigators searched Jake and Rebecca’s home using cadaver dogs, according to KTLA. Jake’s car, as well as electronics including the couple’s phones, iPads, and three Xboxes, were also taken by police as evidence. On Friday, the search continued at the home, according to the Los Angeles Times, as spectators gathered outside in support of Emmanuel, some donning shirts that read, “Where’s the baby?”
