A routine produce shipment at the Texas border turned out to be hiding something far more valuable than cabbage.
Fox News Digital reported on Monday, July 13, that U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers intercepted a commercial tractor-trailer at the Pharr Port of Entry on Monday, July 13, seizing approximately $10.7 million worth of cocaine tucked inside a shipment listed as cabbage.
A canine unit and nonintrusive imaging scan flagged the load for further inspection, CBP added. Officers then physically searched the trailer and found 477 packages containing 1,173 pounds of cocaine, with an estimated street value of $10,787,500, as per Fox News.

“This interception is a powerful reminder that our CBP officers are on duty 24/7, employing every resource to detect and deter those who attempt to exploit our borders,” said Carlos Rodriguez, Port Director, in a statement to Fox News.
CBP seized both the narcotics and the commercial truck. In April, CBP announced it had intercepted a vehicle carrying a rocket-propelled grenade launcher, 16 AK rifles, and other weapon parts attempting to cross the border, as per the official press release issued by CBP.
“The threat of illicit narcotics is constant, but so is our vigilance,” Rodriguez told Fox News.
