Rob Reiner allegedly brought his son Nick to Conan O’Brien’s holiday party on Saturday, December 13 to “keep an eye on him” — hours before the Stand by Me director and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found murdered.
According to a report from The Mirror published on Tuesday, December 16, Rob, 78, asked O’Brien, 62, for permission for Nick, 32, to attend. Sources also told the publication that Nick “exhibited antisocial behavior” while he was at the event which included staring at people.

TMZ previously reported that Rob and Nick got into a heated argument in front of guests at the party, while a source told People, “Nick was freaking everyone out, acting crazy, kept asking people if they were famous.”
A report from NBC News stated that Nick allegedly interrupted a conversation between actor Bill Hader and another guest. When the Saturday Night Live alum, 47, told Nick the conversation was private, the source claimed that Nick stood and stared at them before “storming off.”

Rob and Michele, 70, were later found murdered in their Brentwood, California, home on Sunday, December 14. Their daughter, Romy, 28, was reportedly the one to discover her parents’ bodies, according to People, while TMZ reported that she told police that a family member “should be a suspect” and that they were “dangerous.”
