Rob Reiner allegedly got into a very heated exchange with his 32-year-old son Nick, who has now been charged in his parents’ murder, the night before the Hollywood icon and his wife Michele Singer Reiner died.
According to TMZ sources, the three attended Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party on Saturday, December 13, and Rob and Nick got into a “very loud argument” while there. The outlet reports that others in attendance were able to hear them and that Rob and Michele left the party.
It is unclear if Nick left as well. No other details regarding the party nor timeline of events were immediately available.

However, TMZ also reported that Michele and Rob did not know what to do with Nick (who has a history of addiction and substance abuse issues) as of late, telling friends, “We’ve tried everything.”
As the National Enquirer previously reported, Nick has been charged with murder, according to Page Six. He is reportedly being held at Parker Center Jail in Downtown Los Angeles, with his bail set at $4 million.
Hollywood was left in shock after Rob, 78, and his wife, 68, were discovered in their home by their daughter, Romy, with fatal stab wounds, according to People. TMZ reported their throats were slit.

According to an earlier TMZ report, the couple’s daughter told police that a family member “should be a suspect” because they’re “dangerous.”
