Wynonna Judd Wants Daughter Grace to ‘Step Up’ for Her Kids, But ‘Not Counting on a Fairy Tale Ending’

Wynonna Judd‘s estranged daughter Grace Kelley will be released from prison in November, but their relationship remains extremely complicated, a source tells the National Enquirer.

“Wynonna desperately wants to believe that Grace will come out of this experience ready to turn her life around, but she’s also realistic enough to know there are no guarantees,” reveals the source, “and she has no idea what sort of shape Grace will be in emotionally after spending all this time behind bars.”

Kelley, 30, has had several run-ins with the law over the years, from drug possession to theft, and is currently serving a 15-month sentence at Rockingham County Jail in Harrisonburg, Virginia for driving with a suspended or revoked license while Judd, 62, takes care of her 4-year-old daughter, Kaliyah.

“Wynona has basically raised her since birth,” the source says. “She’s very bonded to her, so the possibility that the whole arrangement could suddenly change is very worrisome.”

Kelley was expected to undergo a c-section on Sunday, August 16, to give birth to her second child, according to People.

“She wants Grace to be able to step up and be the mother her children need, but going from prison to taking responsibility for two young kids would be a massive adjustment for anyone,” notes the source.

“Wynonna’s dream scenario is that Grace comes home in a much healthier place and they can somehow rebuild their relationship and function together as a family,” the source says. “But she’s not counting on a fairy tale ending.”
