Tennessee Man Claims He Met Jesus During Near-Death Experience Following Ruptured Appendix

A construction worker from Tennessee believes he met Jesus Christ during a near-death experience at the hospital in 2004.

Mike McKinsey has said for years that a ruptured appendix sent him into emergency surgery. According to a report from the Daily Mail published on Saturday, September 12, McKinsey has spoken about the experience in multiple podcast interviews, claiming that Jesus walked into the operating room, took his hand and led him to a hill overlooking what he assumed was heaven.

In subsequent interviews, the outlet reported that McKinsey described the man he saw as dark-skinned with green or blue-green eyes along with shoulder-length, wavy brown hair. He added that the man he saw had a short beard and wore a traditional white robe. When the man finally spoke, he told McKinsey he was there to answer his prayer.

McKinsey survived the operation, but that would not be his last time allegedly seeing Jesus during that hospital visit.

While recovering, McKinsey said he developed pneumonia and felt a holy presence enter his hospital room before once again seeing Jesus. He said Jesus remained by his side for hours, even as nurses came in and out. However, he made it clear that, for whatever reason, only he was able to see him.

McKinsey also shared that he was asked to dedicate his life to being a Christian messenger, according to an appearance he made on the Peaceful Presence Podcast in July. While he said his experience was profound, he does not believe he is unique.

As a result, he sought out other people who believe they were personally visited by the divine during their respective near-death experiences and compiled their stories into a book titled Glimpses of Eternity. His latest book details his own story, which is titled I Held the Hand of Jesus in Heaven.
