Hugh Jackman’s Ex Deborra-Lee Furness Trying to ‘Save’ Nicole Kidman From ‘Same Fate’ Amid Keith Urban Split

Hugh Jackman’s ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness knows a thing or two about betrayal — and a source tells the National Enquirer that she’s giving old friend Nicole Kidman plenty of support and advice in the wake of her divorce from Keith Urban.

“Nicole and Deb have been friends for many years and when everything went down with her and Hugh, Nicole was very careful not to turn her back on her,” says the source. “And boy is she glad she didn’t, because Deb has been someone who’s really stepped up to support her.”

As the Enquirer previously reported, Jackman, 57, and Furness, 69, announced their separation in September 2023. At the time, the pair released a joint statement to People, saying they’d “undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness.”

However, in January 2025 Jackman went public with his girlfriend Sutton Foster, 50 — amid rumors that the romance began while they co-starred in the Broadway revival of The Music Man from 2022 to 2023 — and his relationship with Furness became strained as a result.

“Deb was blindsided when Hugh left and felt very alone in the wake of it all,” shares the source. “She’s the type to want to save a friend from the same fate so she reached out to Nicole as soon as she got wind of [their split].”

News of Kidman and Urban’s separation broke on September 29 — and the next day the Oscar winner filed for divorce after nearly 20 years of marriage. Shortly after, TMZ reported that the country signer, 57, already had a new woman in his life.

“All the signs point to the fact Keith is with another woman,” an insider told the outlet at the time. “Let’s just say, Nicole doesn’t dispute that, but she’s still shocked over it.”

Thankfully, Kidman has had Furness by her side ever since. “Deb has been holding Nicole’s hand through it all,” the source tells the Enquirer. “Deb validates her, she makes her feel less alone. This has really strengthened their bond.”
