The 64-year-old actor has been cramming his 2026 calendar with work — and it’s got wife Amal Clooney worried for the future of their marriage, a source tells the National Enquirer.
“From Amal’s perspective, George has totally gone back on his word,” the source says of the British barrister, 47, who shares 8-year-old twins Ella and Alexander with the Oscar winner. “He’s been promising her for years that he was almost ready to slow down and step away from acting to focus on his life with her and the kids.”

“Amal [has] bent over backwards to support George,” reveals the source, even relocating to New York City last spring so that Oscar winner could make his Broadway debut in Good Night, and Good Luck. “She uprooted the kids’ lives, and her own, because he promised it was going to be his swan song.”
But now that the play’s run has wrapped, “George has totally changed his tune,” says the source. “He’s talking about all kinds of things he wants to take on and is finalizing deals for a bunch of other movies he wants to produce.”

Clooney has also signed up to reprise his role as Danny Ocean in the upcoming Ocean’s 14 alongside Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Don Cheadle and Matt Damon. “[It’ll] probably start in about nine or 10 months, shooting,” he told E! News.
“George and Amal put so much into getting their marriage back on track and now it feels like he’s ready to throw that all away,” the source frets. “It’s no wonder she’s upset.”
