The body of Laken Snelling’s infant son “appeared to be full term when discovered,” according to Lexington, Kentucky police records obtained by Lex18.

The former University of Kentucky cheerleader also told staff at the university’s hospital that the baby made a “whimper” and she “guessed” he was alive when he was born.

The Tennessee native, 21, later told police that she fell asleep on top of the baby after giving birth and woke up to find him “turning blue and purple.” Assuming he was dead, she said she wrapped him in a towel and put him in a garbage bag in her closet.

Her roommates — who had heard loud noises during the night and had suspected she was pregnant — later went into her room and found a “blood-soaked towel on the floor and a plastic bag containing evidence of childbirth,” according to the records obtained by Lex18.

Fayette County Police Department

As the National Enquirer previously reported, investigators also found deleted images of Snelling during labor on her phone, as well as internet searches for “concealed or hidden pregnancy,” according to a search warrant obtained by WKYT-TV on Monday, September 29.

They also believe she may have deleted information about “the birth of a full term baby,” according to records obtained by Lex18.

Snelling was arrested in August when she was charged with abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence and concealing the birth of an infant. She has pleaded not guilty.
