Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner’s official cause of death has been revealed three days after their murder.
According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office via People, the pair died of multiple sharp force injuries. The manner of death was officially ruled a homicide following the discovery of their bodies on Sunday, December 14. Per the outlet, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office previously said the longtime married couple was stabbed to death.

Their son, Nick Reiner, 32, has been arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the death of his parents. He appeared in court for the first time on Wednesday, December 17, where his lawyer, Alan Jackson, declined to enter a plea on his behalf. The arraignment will continue on January 7. The charges reportedly carry a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole or the death penalty if convicted.
As previously reported by the National Enquirer, the beloved When Harry Met Sally director’s body was discovered by his daughter, Romy, 28, who was called to the house after a massage therapist who was scheduled for an appointment could not get inside, according to a report by the New York Times.

Romy left the house after seeing her dad and a friend called 911. When authorities arrived, Michele’s body was discovered as well.
Nick was located and arrested soon after near the University of Southern California campus. In addition to Nick and Romy, the couple shared 34-year-old Jake Reiner.
