Jimmy Fallon Shares Theory on Melania Trump’s Disappearance: ‘She Ran Off With Mitch McConnell’

First Lady Melania Trump has not been seen in public in nearly a month, and Jimmy Fallon thinks he knows where she is.

“Over the weekend, President Donald Trump made a campaign stop in Long Island and Melania Trump did not travel with him,” Fallon, 51, said during the Monday, August 17 episode of The Tonight Show. “Yeah, people have noticed she’s been laying low. In fact, she hasn’t been seen in public for 29 days.”

He jokingly added, “All I know is that it’s going to be crazy when we find out she ran off with Mitch McConnell. That’s all — that’s gonna be bizarre.”

Melania, 56, was last seen in public at the FIFA World Cup final on July 19. In the weeks since, the former model opted out of attending the rescheduled White House Correspondents’ Dinner on July 24, and Sen. Lindsey Graham‘s funeral later that month.

As the National Enquirer previously reported, McConnell, 84, has not been seen publicly since being rushed to the hospital on June 14. Despite releasing two images and a written statement, many have continued to question the Kentucky senator’s status.

“On the advice of my doctors, I’ll maintain an intensive regimen of physical therapy from home during the state work period,” McConnell shared in a statement on August 6, per CNBC. “I’ll continue to engage with my staff and colleagues on important Senate business.”
