Simon Cowell ‘Panicked’ After His New Boy Band, December 10, Is Labeled a ‘Catastrophe’ (Exclusive)

Simon Cowell is spiraling after his latest boy band has failed to recreate the success of One Direction, insiders tell the National Enquirer.

The seven-member group — called December 10 — released its first song, “Run My Way,” on Friday, January 30, and moved just 6,300 copies, according to the Daily Mail.

As the outlet pointed out, that included “physical sales, digital downloads and streaming” over a one-week period.

“Simon’s not used to this,” dishes a source. “He’s had the Midas touch for decades, so their lackluster single numbers are a huge shock.”

Like 1D — who got their start on X Factor — December 10 was formed on a Cowell-helmed TV series: Netflix’s The Next Act.

The band’s name comes from the day the show debuted in 2025.

On Thursday, February 19, the music mogul, 66, showed his support for his proteges — Cruz Lee-Ojo, Danny Bretherton, Hendrik Christoffersen, John Fadare, Josh Olliver, Nicolas Alves and Seán Hayden — at their London concert, per Daily Mail.

Cowell also promoted their second single, “Angel,” via his Instagram Stories on Monday, February 16.

“Simon won’t admit it publicly, but privately, he’s panicked and trying everything he can think of to turn this around,” says the source. “He’s calling in every favor he can.”

The Daily Mail reports that the Cowell-led initiative is being labeled a “catastrophe” by music industry insiders — and a second season of The Next Act is allegedly in jeopardy.

“Simon isn’t ready to accept defeat, but the hard truth is that tastemakers change with time,” shares Enquirer’s source. “No one can stay at the top forever.”
