Robert Irwin Is a ‘People Pleaser,’ May Be ‘Trying’ to Keep His ‘Options Open’ Amid Alleged Romance (Exclusive)

Robert Irwin may need to exercise some caution when it comes to dating, according to a source.

A source tells the National Enquirer that the 21-year-old zookeeper is “naturally such a friendly guy and a people pleaser, he hates disappointing anyone, so instead of setting clear boundaries, he has a tendency to say whatever will make someone happy in the moment, and that’s where things can get messy.”

“He’s also very affectionate and full of energy, and women can easily read more into that than he intends, especially when he’s keeping conversations going behind the scenes,” the source continues.

“Not that long ago, Robert was going full steam ahead with Xochitl [Gomez], and they were making all these plans to meet up in Australia,” the source explains.

The conservationist and the Marvel star, 19, performed an upbeat jive together on Dancing with the Stars in November and were praised by fans for their chemistry.

However, as TMZ reported in late March, Robert sparked dating rumors with fellow wildlife photographer, Ashleigh Scully, after they were spotted hanging out and laughing together in Australia.

The source told Enquirer that the situation is “still very new,” acknowledging Robert is not “obligated to make some big commitment,” but also noted, “there is some concern that he’s trying to keep too many options open.”

As for what Robert’s older sister, Bindi, and mom, Terri, think, the source says they’ve spoken with him “because they don’t want things to get misinterpreted or for anyone to get hurt.”
