Nicole Kidman Will Continue to ‘Push the Envelope’ With Sexy Scenes No Matter What Keith Urban Thinks (Exclusive)

Nicole Kidman’s explicit sex scenes on TV projects like Big Little Lies and films like Babygirl were a huge sticking point in her marriage to Keith Urban. However, a source tells the National Enquirer that she’s forging ahead with more sexy projects in the form of Practical Magic 2 and the upcoming production of Big Little Lies 3 – and she’s looking forward to getting back at Urban.

“As word spread that Nicole and Keith were ending their marriage, the message from Nicole and her team to her industry colleagues was loud and clear,” the source says. “They’re not changing course, and they’re not changing a thing that they’ve been doing over the last nine years or so.”

According to the source, Kidman, 58, plans to “keep making movies and keep producing and starring in as many streaming shows as she can” and says that she’s “doubling down, not backing down.”

The source continues, “Nicole’s going to continue to do that stuff on her own terms, and it doesn’t matter how Keith feels about it.”

“If anything, this new development creates even more interest around what Nicole and Reese Witherspoon are cooking up for the third season of Big Little Lies, which is set to film in the spring and summer next year,” the source says. “Remember, it was the first season of that show in 2016 where Nicole put herself on this path of pushing the envelope with intense, erotic scenes with her younger costars.”

“Of course, that bothered Keith at the time, but there wasn’t anything he could do about it except cheer Nicole on as she won two Emmys for her work on that series,” the source explains.

“The surprise for everybody,” the source adds, “was that Nicole kept pushing the envelope in project after project since then – right up through Practical Magic 2, which she filmed this past summer and is also full of intense, romantic and sexy scenes. This approach is working for her, and she’s not going to let anybody rain on her parade or stop her from using her voice, and her body, in unexpected ways.”
