Russell Crowe Letting Girlfriend Britney Theriot Take ‘Control’ After Revealing His Anti-Marriage Stance

While marriage may not be in the cards for Russell Crowe and Britney Theriot, a source reveals the Gladiator star is fully dependent on his girlfriend of over five years.

“He’s given the wheel to Britney,” the source tells the National Enquirer. “She makes a lot of key decisions, picking out everything from his outfits to the restaurants they go to.”

The actor, 62, and the actress-turned-realtor, 42, were first romantically linked in 2020 — two years after his divorce from wife Danielle Spencer was finalized.

“I’m not going to get married again,” Crowe insisted to Australia’s 60 Minutes in November 2025. “Doing it once is cool, great, you know. But I don’t want to do it again.”

Still, the leading man had nothing but positive things to say about Theriot during his Aussie TV interview. “We have a wonderful relationship,” he gushed. “My life is so joyous and happy at the moment.”

According to the source, the A Beautiful Mind alum’s marriage declaration brought about the power shift in his romance.

“That’s the moment he handed Britney a lot of control,” alleges the source. “Instead of getting a future husband, she’s got a puppet who will do and say anything she wants just to keep her interested and invested in the relationship.”

This May, the lovebirds were spotted wearing coordinated clothes and packing on the PDA at the French Open in Paris.

“Britney loves the vacations she puts together for them as a couple,” adds the source. “She is kind of like the concierge in the relationship, making sure Russell is living life to the fullest between movies!”
