Nicole Kidman Reportedly Avoided Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster at the 2026 Met Gala: ‘Team Deb’

Nicole Kidman’s loyalty is seemingly with Deborra-Lee Furness following her divorce from Hugh Jackman.

On Monday, May 4, the Greatest Showman star, 57, and girlfriend Sutton Foster made their Met Gala debut as a couple and were all smiles as they posed for photos at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The Babygirl actress, 58, was also in attendance while serving as co-chair at the exclusive fashion event with her daughter, Sunday Rose, 17, whom she shares with ex-husband Keith Urban.

According to the Thursday, May 7 edition of Rob Shuter‘s Naughty But Nice Substack, sources claimed the Oscar winner did not schmooze with the Deadpool & Wolverine actor and the Broadway star at the event.

“Nicole is firmly Team Deb,” one source explained. “She believes Deb was deeply hurt by how everything unfolded, and Nicole isn’t interested in pretending otherwise just because Hugh showed up with a new woman on his arm.”

Sources noted that Kidman wasn’t rude — rather, she was trying to keep her distance.

“She didn’t want drama,” the source added. “But she also wasn’t going to play happy families for the cameras.”

As the National Enquirer previously reported, in September 2023, Jackman and Furness, 70, announced their amicable separation after about 27 years of marriage. Then in January 2025, the Marvel star went public with his relationship with Foster, with whom he co-starred in the Broadway revival of The Music Man from 2022 to 2023.

A few months later, the Shame actress filed for divorce, and shared a statement about “betrayal” with the Daily Mail.

“My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal,” she told the publication in May 2025. “It’s a profound wound that cuts deep, however I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us.”

“Deb’s ‘betrayal’ comment was not forgotten in Hollywood,” another source told Shuter. “A lot of people close to her feel Hugh did her wrong, and Nicole is one of the friends who has stayed incredibly protective.”
