Nick Reiner Is Being Held in Solitary Confinement and Is on Suicide Watch

As he awaits his arraignment on January 7, 2026, Nick Reiner remains alone in a cell at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in downtown Los Angeles. The 32-year-old, who has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder after the deaths of his parents Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner, is being kept in solitary confinement, reported People.

Nick has also been on suicide watch since he was taken into custody on December 14. The National Enquirer previously reported that he wore an anti-suicide smock to his court appearance on Wednesday, December 17, and per People, he is required to wear the safety garment at all times.

The outlet reported that Nick is not allowed to use the phone, is only allowed to communicate with his lawyers and jail personnel, and is being closely monitored around the clock.

“This is important so that no one compromises this high-profile case, and so that no civilian or inmate can ask him questions, such as why he killed his parents,” a police source told People.

“While he is on suicide watch, a supervisor checks on him every 15 minutes to ensure his safety,” said the source. “He is currently struggling with mental health concerns, but he has not attempted self-harm. He remains alone in his cell and communicates very little.”

Nick’s parents, All in the Family star Rob, 78, and photographer and film producer Michele, 70, were found dead in their home in Los Angeles’s Brentwood neighborhood on Sunday, December 14.
