The comedian, 58, said that he doesn’t need the Golden Globes to make him feel like his The Joe Rogan Experience podcast is a success.
On the Thursday, January 29, episode, Rogan revealed that he “didn’t submit” for Golden Globes consideration because of the $500 entry fee.
According to the awards ceremony’s official eligibility and consideration rules, entry fees for consideration are $250 for each individual person and $500 for each motion picture, TV program, stand-up special, cinematic and box-office achievement production, and podcast.

“Here’s the thing,” Rogan began. “A lot of people say, ‘Why wasn’t Joe Rogan nominated for the Golden Globes?’ And, ‘Why did Amy Poehler win?’ I didn’t submit.”
“They asked me to submit to be nominated for the Golden Globes, and you had to pay $500,” Rogan explained. “I said, ‘No.’ Like, I don’t care. I already won. Like, you can’t tell me I didn’t win. I’ve been No. 1 for six years in a row. All of a sudden, you’re going to have a contest in front of all these people wearing tuxedos, and you’re going to say, ‘Now I’m not No. 1.’ Like, f**k off.”
Rogan said that he doesn’t even care that he’s amongst the top podcasts on the charts, but he added, “I am in fact No. 1.”
According to the Spotify chart, his podcast does rank No. 1; but on Apple’s Top Charts, The Joe Rogan Experience currently ranks third under Top Shows. On both charts, Poehler’s Good Hang ranks below him.
“[If] you like Amy Poehler better than me, that’s great,” Rogan said. “I don’t care.”
Rogan claimed that the Golden Globes “basically just took the top people of the charts, which is fine,” but implied that there are plenty of good podcasts out there.
He said that he hasn’t seen Poehler’s podcast, adding: “I’m sure it’s good. It won. I’m sure someone must love it.”
“I don’t want to be a part of that,” he insisted. “I don’t care.”
