Bad Bunny has been hit with a $16 million lawsuit ahead of his controversial Super Bowl LX halftime show next month.
The three-time Grammy-winning rapper, whose real name is Benito Martínez Ocasio, is facing claims of an allegedly unauthorized voice recording.
Tainaly Y. Serrano Rivera has filed a 32-page suit against the in Puerto Rico on January 5, claiming that her voice is featured on Bad Bunny’s 2018 track “Solo de Mi” and his 2025 hit “EoO” without her consent.
In the sample, she delivers the line “Mira, puñeta, no me quiten el perreo,” which roughly translates to “Look, damn it, don’t take away my perreo,” referring to the hip-driven dance style synonymous with reggaeton music.

As Entertainment Weekly reports, Rivera alleges in the legal document the catchphrase has since become widely associated with Bad Bunny and goes on to say he frequently plays it during shows and also uses versions of the phrase on his merchandise.
In further claims Rivera alleges that she recorded the audio in 2018 at the request of Bad Bunny’s longtime producer Roberto J. Rosado, known professionally as La Paciencia. At the time they were both students in the theater program at the Interamerican University of Arecibo.
She is now demanding that Bad Bunny and his label, Rimas Entertainment, pay $16 million for publicity rights and privacy violations.
This is not the first time Bad Bunny has found himself in legal trouble over the use of voice samples in his music.

The decision by the NFL to select Bad Bunny as the Super Bowl halftime performer prompted a backlash and even a petition for him to be replaced with country music legend George Strait.
However, the move has been praised by others, including former halftime performer Shakira.
