Wendy Williams’ guardianship has been upheld after additional testing reportedly reinforced her prior dementia diagnosis.
The former talk show host, 61, underwent a “significant number of tests” and “scans,” according to court documents obtained by People, and sources claimed that she was once again found to have frontotemporal dementia and aphasia.
Additionally, the filing revealed that Sabrina Morrissey, her legal guardian, asked for the court to extend her guardianship until November 5.
However, Williams’ attorney, Joe Tacopina, hit back at the reports and claimed that the comments on her health were “false” allegations “being spread by a party with a vested interest in keeping Wendy trapped under this excessive and restrictive guardianship,” per TMZ.
“The critical questions are these: Where is the actual medical report supporting this leak?” he asked. “And who is the doctor willing to go under oath and face cross-examination by me so the truth can be exposed?”

The alleged medical reports are just another bump in the road as Williams continues to fight to escape her court-ordered guardianship that she was placed under in 2022.
Last month, when she was asked what she wanted on her 61st birthday – which was on July 18 – she told TMZ she wanted to “get out of guardianship.”
During a January appearance on The Breakfast Club radio show, she claimed she was “not cognitively impaired.”
“Listen, this system is broken, this system that I am in,” she said at the time. “This system has falsified a lot.”
