Authorities in Florida say a man captured on video “brazenly” robbing a all gold kiosk was also captured on video selling the stolen gold at a local pawn shop, and is now facing charges.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday shared surveillance video of a man who “brazenly robbed” a gold kiosk at the Treasure Coast Mall in Jensen Beach after first “posing as a legitimate customer” to look at several gold chains. The suspect then grabbed the gold chains and fled.
The stolen gold was valued at more than $22,000, according to the sheriff’s office. Another video clip shows the same man selling chains at a pawn shop.

The sheriff’s office said its detectives identified the suspect as 25-year-old Dezmone Johnson. Detectives then worked with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force to locate Johnson and take him into custody.
The sheriff’s office said Johnson, who already has an “extensive criminal history,” is now facing a charge of robbery by sudden snatching.
