Unidentified Florida Suspect Abandoned Dog Then Hit It With Car
Authorities in Florida are seeking the public’s help identifying a suspect captured on video abandoning a dog in the road then running over the animal.
The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office said the incident took place at around 8:20 a.m. on Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Road near Haida Trail in Crawfordville. The suspect was captured on home surveillance video removing the dog from the vehicle and dropping it in the road. Then, as he fled the scene, he struck the dog.
The sheriff’s office said the dog “thankfully” did not sustain serious injuries. The dog was evaluated and remains in the custody of Wakulla Animal Control.
The video shows the suspect’s vehicle, described as a dark blue or black Chevrolet Camaro, driving away as the dog chases after it.
