An interstate offramp in Tennessee was temporarily shut down on Wednesday after a truck hauling 34,000 pounds of live crabs caught fire, officials said.

Tennessee Department of Transportation spokesperson Mark Nagi posted on social media at around 8:20 a.m. Wednesday to alert motorists to the closure of the Exit 12 offramp on northbound Interstate 81 in Morristown due to a tractor-trailer fire.

“Cargo is live crabs,” Nagi wrote.

A photo of the truck after the flames were extinguished shows piles of crabs spilling out form the burned portion of the trailer. Along with photos of the truck, Nagi shared a GIF of a dancing crab.

In an update, Nagi posted a GIF with several dancing crabs to announce that approximately two-thirds of the live crabs had been salvaged.

According to a preliminary report from the agency, the truck driver noticed a rear trailer axel/brake fire and pulled over to the shoulder near the Exit 12 ramp.

Nagi announced at around 4:43 p.m. that the off-ramp had reopened.
