With fall schedules ramping up, Tropical Smoothie Cafe is aiming to make breakfast a more powerful start to the day with a new protein-packed lineup.
The chains newly expanded offerings include smoothies, bowls, and handhelds, each designed to deliver a high-protein start for people on the go.
The Peanut Paradise Smoothie packs 22 grams of protein, the PB Protein Crunch Bowl delivers 32 grams, and the Mixed Berry Greek Yogurt Bowl contains 26 grams. Hot items like the Sausage, Egg & Cheese ‘Dilla and All American Wrap offer 27 grams and 17 grams of protein, respectively. The full menu is now available at participating locations nationwide, with most cafes now open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays to accommodate weekend traffic.
The launch comes as consumer demand for protein continues to rise. In 2024, protein was the most frequently mentioned nutrient Americans tried to consume, according to the International Food Information Councils annual survey. About 71% of respondents said they actively sought out protein for energy, satiety, and better-for-you convenience that fits into busy lifestyles. On TikTok, #highproteinbreakfast has amassed more than 70,000 posts, underscoring its popularity among health-conscious users.
“With the end of summer approaching, our guests are diving back into packed schedules, from school drop-offs to early morning meetings,” said Deborah von Kutzleben, Chief Marketing Officer of Tropical Smoothie Café, LLC. “They’ve been asking for more high-protein, on-the-go options, and this lineup delivers — combining craveable flavor with functionality, all made with the quality ingredients they expect from Tropical Smoothie Cafe.”
