Troopers Find Abducted Child Within Minutes Of AMBER Alert, Arrest Homicide Suspect
The Missouri State Highway Patrol on Tuesday released video of the moment troopers rescued a kidnapped 4-year-old and arrested a man wanted for a homicide in Texas.
At around 2:13 p.m. on Jan. 31, an AMBER Alert was issued in reference to a child abduction related to a homicide that took place in Mansfield, Texas, on Jan. 30. Missouri State Highway Patrol said that just minutes later, and 2:20 p.m., a trooper located the suspect’s vehicle in Ozark, Mo., “thanks to License Plate Reader (LPR) technology and tips from citizens.”
The video shows troopers approaching a Gold 2009 Toyota Corolla with Texas license plates parked outside a Casey’s convenience store. The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Raymond Isaac Carmona, is seen placing his hands up before being removed from the vehicle and handcuffed.
Troopers then located the missing boy safe in the backseat of the vehicle.
Carmona was being held at the Christian County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of third-degree kidnapping.
