Texas Man Allegedly Blocked McDonald’s Drive-Thru, Tried To Punch Cook

A Texas man is facing charges for allegedly blocking a McDonald’s drive-thru before entering the restaurant and throwing a punch at a cook, police said.

The Texarkana Police Department said 40-year-old Michael Whisenant pulled into a McDonald’s drive-thru on Richmond Road on Monday and after receiving his food, decided to stay right there and eat it, blocking the lane.

When employees told Whisenant they needed to keep the drive-thru line moving, “he apparently wasn’t a fan of that idea,” police said. He allegedly began complaining about his order before leaving his vehicle and heading inside the restaurant.

According to police, Whisenant “stormed past some pretty surprised customers and employees” on his way to the kitchen, where he allegedly “took a swing” at a cook but missed.

Whisenant then left the McDonald’s “like nothing ever happened,” police said.

Responding officers quickly located Whisenant’s vehicle a few blocks away and conducted a stop. Whisenant was arrested and booked into the Bi-State Jail for disorderly conduct.

“Just a quick reminder,” police said, “the drive-thru is for grabbing your food and going… not for dinner and a show.”
