Star Jones Slammed for ‘Diva’ Behavior by Former ‘The View’ Guest

Jessica Kirson, who has made several appearances on The View, claimed that former cohost Star Jones made her experience difficult.

“I did The View, which, it was an interesting experience because I felt like the energy there was hard for me,” the comedian, 56, said during a Tuesday, July 21 episode of The Jessica Kirson Show. “Star Jones was on at the time, this was a long time ago. Star Jones was very, like, a diva.”

She went on to give an example of Jones’ alleged “diva” behavior, explaining that there was a misunderstanding about the Divorce Court star’s full name.

“I was like, ‘And please welcome Star Jones!'” Kirson recalled, before revealing that she was reprimanded by the show’s producers for cutting off Jones’ married last name.

She explained to the stage director that she was simply reading the prompt adding, “I don’t even know what you’re talking about.”

Kirson remembered later being confronted by the longtime panelist, who was married to Al Reynolds at the time.

“She came up to me and she literally said, ‘My name is Star Jones Reynolds, and I would appreciate if you called me that. That’s my name,'” Kirson claimed. “I was like, your husband is a [expletive], let’s move on.”

Jones, 64, was one of the original panelists when the talk show premiered in 1997, along with Meredith Vieira, Debbie Matenopoulos, Joy Behar, and Barbara Walters. Jones remained on the show for nine seasons before announcing her exit live on air in 2006.

She and Reynolds, 58, were married from 2004 to 2008. The investment banker came out as bisexual in 2017. Jones remarried Judge Ricardo Lugo in 2018.
