Seattle Police Seek Suspect In Random Assault That Left Man In Critical Condition

Police in Seattle are seeking the public’s assistance after a man was randomly beaten outside a hotel earlier this month, and remains in critical condition.

The Seattle Police Department this week released surveillance images of an unidentified suspect in the May 4 attack, which took place in front of the Renaissance Hotel on Madison Street in Seattle’s Central Business District.

Officers responded to a report of a man lying on the ground in front of the hotel at around 12:06 a.m. May 4. The victim, a 35-year-old man, was “bent over” in front of the hotel when the suspect approached and struck him in the head with an object. The victim was knocked to the ground, and the suspect repeatedly struck the victim before eventually leaving the scene.

After the attack, the suspect walked from south to north on 6th Avenue toward Madison Street, then fled north on 6th Avenue.

The suspect is described as a “possibly black” man, standing between 5 feet, 6 inches and 5 feet, 9 inches tall, with a medium build and facial hair. In surveillance images, the suspect can be seen wearing a white bucket hat, black jacket, black pants, and pink or red shoes.

Police said the victim currently remains in critical condition.
