Authorities in Oregon say they have seized nearly 30 pounds of methamphetamine and made one arrest in an ongoing narcotics investigation.
The Salem Police Department said detectives from its Strategic Investigations Unit were following a narcotics investigation when they made contact with 39-year-old Luis Montes-Jimenez of Gresham shortly before midnight on Monday, April 6.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for the vehicle Montes-Jimenez was driving and found approximately 10 pounds of methamphetamine inside.
Further investigation led detectives to a motel room near Interstate 5, and during a search on April 7, they seized another 17 pounds of methamphetamine.
Montes-Jimenez was booked into the Marion County Jail on charges of unlawful delivery and possession of methamphetamine.
