Authorities in Missouri are searching for a suspect who allegedly “fled from court” on Thursday.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office posted on social media Thursday to alert residents of increased law enforcement presence as deputies and Steelville Police Department officers searched for a suspect who fled from court.

The sheriff’s office shared a surveillance image showing the suspect, who was not named, running. He was last seen wearing a white long-sleeved shirt and gray or khaki pants in the area of North First Street and Hickory Street.

The sheriff’s office did not specify the nature of the charges the suspect is facing, but said that “at this time, the individual is not believed to be dangerous.”

Residents were asked to “remain aware of their surroundings” and report any suspicious activity. Anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to dispatchers at 573-775-4911.
