Michael B. Jordan’s surprise win at the 2026 Actor Awards earned a standing ovation — but not everyone in Hollywood is applauding the Sinners star’s recent behind-the-scenes antics, reveals a source.

“As his fame has grown, so has his ego,” the source tells the National Enquirer. “He loves being the top dog.”

During the Actors ceremony on Sunday, March 1, Jordan took home Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role, sparking excited, headline-making reactions from presenter Viola Davis and fellow nominee Jesse Plemons, as reported by BuzzFeed.

Sinners also won Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

“Michael has proven again and again that he can make movies that make a lot of people money and make a lot of people happy,” says the source. “He’s smart and he’s gifted, but he’s not going to let anyone forget it, either.”

According to the source, Jordan, 39, doesn’t tend to “surround himself with people who are going to put him in check.”
