Megyn Kelly is not mincing words when it comes to her true feelings on Melissa Gilbert.
The 55-year-old political commentator shared a lengthy statement to X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, January 11, slamming the Little House on the Prairie alum, 61, for her previous comments on child sex abuse.
Before Gilbert’s husband, actor Timothy Busfield, made headlines this month for being accused of inappropriately touching a minor, the former Dancing with the Stars contestant called out Kelly for her controversial remarks on Jeffrey Epstein.
On a November episode of The Megyn Kelly Show, the mother of three seemed to downplay Epstein’s heinous crimes and said she felt that “there’s a difference between a 15-year-old and a 5-year-old” when it comes to pedophilia.

Gilbert reportedly condemned Kelly’s stance, tagging her to say: “You need to be careful with your words.”
“On Nov 17, actor Melissa Gilbert made sure she got herself in the paper by attacking yours truly for allegedly downplaying the seriousness of Epstein’s abuse of teenagers (in fact I made clear that abuse at any age disgusts me),” Kelly began in her tweet.
“When she launched her attack, SHE KNEW that her husband, actor/director Timothy Busfield was actively under investigation for allegedly M0LESTING TWO CHILDREN WHEN THEY WERE 7 YEARS OLD,” she continued.
Kelly pointed out that a warrant has reportedly been issued for the arrest of Busfield, 68, in New Mexico with charges that include one count of child abuse and two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor under the age of 13.

While reports state that Gilbert was aware of her husband’s phone interview with police amid the investigation, Kelly claimed the actress “saw an opportunity” to attack her for her Epstein comments “to get some Chips in the Good Person bank.”
“It’s always the ones who morally preen the hardest. Always,” Kelly wrote in part. “And the reason it’s them is that they have something to hide.”
“Shame on Melissa Gilbert for her despicable ploy,” the SiriusXM host stated. “And shame on Timothy Busfield, who denies the charges but reportedly admits to ‘tickling’ the young boys’ stomachs and legs and acting ‘playful’ w/them while in an authority position.”

In follow-up tweets, Kelly appeared to quote alleged details from the police affidavit and noted that Gilbert has deleted her Instagram account amid the scandal.
The charges against Busfield stem from incidents involving two young boys (one of which was 7 years old at the time) that allegedly occurred on the set of the TV series The Cleaning Lady between November 2022 and the spring of 2024.
On Friday, January 9, TMZ reported that the investigation began in November 2024 and that authorities have not yet taken Busfield into custody.
