Louisiana Teacher Arrested For Allegedly Hitting Special Education Student At Elementary School
A special education teacher in Louisiana is facing charges for allegedly striking a student “several times,” authorities said.
The Natchitoches Police Department said officers responded to L.P. Vaughn Elementary School on Feb. 26 for a report that a student had been struck by an educator. A Natchitoches Parish School Board representative told responding officers that a special education student who had an “outburst” was hit by their teacher several times earlier in the week, police said.
Following a “thorough investigation,” 59-year-old Kimberly Hayward was arrested on a charge of cruelty to juveniles.
