Louis C.K. ‘Still as Productive as Ever’ After Being Canceled: ‘Writing Tons of New Material’ (Exclusive)

Louis C.K. feels like a new man, a source tells the National Enquirer, and he owes it all to his relationship with Mimi O’Donnell, Spotify’s head of scripted fiction and the former long-term partner of Philip Seymour Hoffman.

“He’s still as productive as ever, writing tons of new material and experimenting with the medium [of] stand-up like never before,” says the source. “But he’s not going home to an empty house anymore and he’s finally got some of his demons fully in check in the interest of becoming a better partner to Mimi.”

As the Enquirer previously reported, the controversial stand-up comedian, 58, was famously “canceled” after multiple misconduct allegations surfaced in 2017.

“These stories are true,” C.K. confessed in a statement to People after five women came forward to the New York Times, accusing him of exposing himself and masturbating in front of them in nonconsensual circumstances.

The premiere of his film, I Love You, Daddy, was canceled as was a planned Netflix stand-up special.

He was dropped by his publicist and longtime manager and FX, which had produced C.K.’s Emmy-winning series Louie and was working with him on several other projects, cut ties too.

“Louis might be spending the entire rest of his career attempting to fully rehabilitate his damaged image,” admits the source. “Sure, he still has a core group of stars rooting for him, but they’re not going to let him run from the truth.”

Neither is O’Donnell.

“He wants to build something serious and lasting with Mimi,” says the source, “and she is being patient with him and showing him that redemption, though painful, is really possible.”
