Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau sparked speculation that they’re dating on July 28 when TMZ reported they were spotted together in Montreal, but there’s a chance the two initially met at the Invictus Games in February.

The “California Gurls” singer, 40, and the former Canadian Prime Minister, 53, were just two of the big names at Prince Harry’s multi-sport event held in Vancouver, Canada, with Perry performing during the opening ceremony and Trudeau delivering a speech.

Chris Martin, Noah Kahan, Nelly Furtado and Roxane Bruneau also performed at the opening ceremony, while Jelly Roll, Barenaked Ladies, and The War and Treaty performed during the closing ceremony.

Although it’s unknown whether there are sparks flying between Perry and Trudeau, the pair are both free to date. The politician separated from wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau — who he shares three children with — after 18 years of marriage in 2023.

Meanwhile, news broke that Perry and Orlando Bloom called it quits in June. The pair, who got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2019, share 4-year-old daughter Daisy.

As Enquirer readers know, Perry was none-too-pleased to see her baby daddy — who, Star reported, was said to be paying actress Sydney Sweeney extra attention while in Italy for Jeff Bezos’ wedding to Lauren Sánchez — living it up as a single man this summer following their split.

“Orlando’s been acting like the separation is some sort of vacation,” an insider told National Enquirer earlier this month. “If he’s missing Katy being there, he sure isn’t showing it.”

“He’s out at parties and hanging with friends like he hasn’t a care in the world,” added the insider.

While both Bloom and Perry got back into dating, the American Idol alum is grappling with an ongoing legal battle with disabled veteran Carl Wescott, who sued Perry over the former couple’s Montecito home, which they purchased in 2021.

Though Perry won the first court case, which involved being awarded ownership over the house, the second trial for damages is set to begin on August 21 at Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Los Angeles.
