Dogged by sexual assault allegations, legendary crooner Julio Iglesias desperately wants son Enrique on his side despite their famously strained relationship, the National Enquirer has learned.
Enrique, 50, cut ties with his dad decades ago and has reportedly rejected a $100 million inheritance from the 82-year-old father of eight.

But with an ongoing investigation into the claims against him, Julio hopes to count on Enrique for support, insiders claim.
“Julio swears these claims are totally unfounded and he’ll fight to prove his innocence with everything he’s got,” says an insider.
“That said, it’s a very difficult time for him and he’s got a long haul ahead that’s likely to get extremely messy, especially if these allegations proceed to open court, as appears likely.”
According to reports, two unnamed women accuse Julio of sexual assault and workplace harassment, as well as verbal and physical abuse, while working at his Dominican Republic and Bahamas residences in 2021, per People.
With the Spanish prosecutors’ office now investigating, sources say enlisting Enrique’s help could be tough for Julio.
Their estrangement dates back to when Enrique was 18 and “separated completely” from his family, according to Hola!.
“I left and for 10 years I had absolutely no contact with my father,” he revealed to ICON magazine.
A family insider adds: “Enrique’s relationship with his father has never been one of the best. Years go by without speaking, not even on the phone.”

Insiders say Enrique continues to maintain his distance while living in Miami with his longtime partner, 44-year-old former tennis player Anna Kournikova, and their children.
They share 8-year-old twins Nicholas and Lucy, daughter Mary, born in January 2020, and recently welcomed their fourth child but haven’t revealed the baby’s name or sex.
Adds the insider: “Julio needs all the support he can get and he’s counting on Enrique and Anna to tell the world he’s an honorable man who’d never be capable of such heinous behavior. It’s a huge test of Enrique’s loyalty. He ultimately loves his dad but hates scandal or negativity of any kind. Being dragged into this sordid mess is the last thing he wants or needs.”
