Jill Biden Admits Husband Joe Couldn’t Have Served Another Term as President ‘From What I Know Now’
Jill Biden recently spoke about the health of her husband, former President Joe Biden, and she admitted that he wouldn’t have been able to complete his second term had he been elected.
However, it was a realization she didn’t come to until after his May 2025 cancer diagnosis.
“Do you still think he would’ve been in a good place to serve as president for another four years, until he was 86?” The View cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin asked Jill, 74, during the Tuesday, June 2, episode.
“Not from what I know now. Who knew?” she replied. “It was so shocking to get a cancer diagnosis.”
Before Joe, 83, was diagnosed with prostate cancer, debates about his ability to serve as president for a second term were running rampant. A particularly disastrous debate against current President Donald Trump in 2024 fueled requests that he step down from his role and allow former Vice President Kamala Harris run instead.
Jill explained that even Joe realized there was no question that he had failed during the debate, and she knew he was upset immediately.
“I’m not going to say it on morning TV, [but he said a version of] ‘I really messed up, didn’t I?'” Jill recalled. “And I said, ‘Yeah, Joe, you did.'”
