Joe Biden Reaches Milestone in His Battle Against Prostate Cancer

Former President Joe Biden reached a milestone in his ongoing battle with prostate cancer.

Biden’s daughter, Ashley Biden, took to Instagram Story on Monday, October 20, to share a video clip of her father ringing the bell after finishing a round of radiation.

“Rung the bell! Thank you to the incredible doctors, nurses, and staff at Penn Medicine. We are so grateful!” the former first daughter wrote over the clip. “Dad has been so damn brave throughout his treatment. Grateful.”

The hopeful update comes just 10 days after Biden’s office announced he had been undergoing radiation treatment for prostate cancer for several weeks, and five months after news of the politician’s condition was revealed.

Biden, who will turn 83 next month, was diagnosed with an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer “characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone,” according to the statement made by Biden’s office at the time.

Weeks later, the former president shared a photo with wife Dr. Jill Biden thanking everyone for their support.

“Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places,” he shared via X on May 19. “Thank you for lifting us up with love and support.”
