Georgia Man Who Allegedly Followed 4 Juvenile Girls Home Charged With Stalking

A Georgia man is facing stalking charges after allegedly following a group of juvenile girls from a business over “several miles” to a residence, where a physical fight ensued, authorities said.

The Troup County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded at around 11:22 p.m. on April 11 to a report of a fight with injuries at a residence on Hamilton Road. The arrived to find a man who appeared to have physical injuries and notified the Criminal Investigations Division.

Investigators learned the injured man, identified as 40-year-old Marshall Phillip Taylor was confronted by the homeowners for allegedly following four juvenile girls to the home. Taylor had allegedly intentionally followed the teen girls from a business to the residence, which was several miles away.

When the homeowners confronted Taylor “out of concern” for the safety of the girls, “force was used against Taylor,” the sheriff’s office said.

After obtaining an arrest warrant on charges of stalking and simple assault, Taylor was taken into custody by the Valley Police Department in Alabama on April 15, and transported to the Troup County Jail on April 21.

The sheriff’s office is now asking that anyone who may have experienced a similar incident with Taylor to contact Investigator James Robson at 706-883-1616.
