Florida Deputies Catch Burglars In The Act For The Third Time In A Month

A pair of suspected burglars in Florida were caught in the act this week, and officials say it’s the third time in just over a month that deputies have interrupted burglaries in the area.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said its Bravo East deputies on Thursday responded to a report of two suspicious men “crawling through a window” at a residence on Luke Avenue in Destin, in the Florida Panhandle.

Deputies arrived quickly and established a perimeter while the suspects were still inside the home. One of the suspects attempted to flee out the back door but quickly surrendered. The second suspect ran back into the house, but after being “challenged by deputies” he also surrendered.

The suspects, whose identities were not immediately released, allegedly confessed after being advised of their rights. They were each charged with burglary to an unoccupied dwelling and criminal mischief.

The sheriff’s office said this is the third time since March 20 that Bravo East deputies have interrupted and captured burglars in the act.

“If you’re a burglar and Bravo East is on duty, your getaway plan probably needs work,” the sheriff’s office said.
