Fat Cat That Hid In Recliner To Avoid Vet Rescued By Firefighters
A fat cat in Kansas went to extreme lengths to avoid a veterinary visit over the weekend and had to be rescued after it became stuck in the base of a recliner, police said.
The Overland Park Police Department said the incident took place Saturday morning, and presented a “prime example of teamwork” as firefighters and animal control officers worked to free the pet.
Photos shared by police on Instagram show the furious feline wedged within the metal components of a mechanical recliner, where it was “desperately trying to escape its owner for a vet visit,” police said.
Firefighters ultimately had to use a saw to cut the chair and free the orange and white cat.
The cat’s efforts to hide were for nought, however. Police said that after being rescued, the cat was taken to the vet for its annual checkup.
