Cowboy Chicken Marks 44 Years With Throwback 1981 Prices And Giveaways For Rotisserie Chicken Month

Cowboy Chicken is throwing it back to 1981 as it celebrates 44 years of serving wood-fire rotisserie chicken — complete with nostalgic pricing, free cobbler, and family meal giveaways throughout August.

The Dallas-based fast-casual chain, known for slow-roasting its chicken over real wood, is honoring its anniversary during Rotisserie Chicken Month with deals that nod to the brands origins. Founded in 1981, Cowboy Chicken has grown into a celebrated concept built on “bold, wood-fire flavor and real honest food.”

“As we mark 44 years of our signature wood-fire chicken, were reminded that time-honored recipes and genuine hospitality never go out of style,” said Cowboy Chicken president and CEO Sean Kennedy. “Our commitment to bringing folks together over real ingredients and bold flavors is as strong today as it was in 1981.”

Specials begin with Throwback Thursdays, where every Thursday after 4 p.m. guests can enjoy a Meal for Four — featuring a whole wood-fire rotisserie chicken, Texas Ranchero beans, Texas twice-baked Potaters and four rolls — for $19.81, the same year the brand opened its first location.

The celebration peaks on Aug. 19, when Cowboy Chickens original Quarter Chicken Meal will be offered at 1981 prices: $3.89 for a plate that includes a quarter rotisserie chicken, Cowboy slaw, Texas Ranchero beans and a roll. The deal is only available in stores, and the first 100 guests at each location that day will receive a complimentary throwback tote.

Guests who download the Cowboy Chicken app can also score a free cobbler with any entrée purchase throughout the month. Meanwhile, new members of the Wild West Rewards loyalty program will automatically be entered into the “44 Years, 44 Families Giveaway,” with 44 families winning a free family meal loaded to their accounts.
