Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, is ready to speak about the assassination of her husband.
The businesswoman, 36, will be seen on the Wednesday, November 5, episode of Jesse Watters Primetime to open up about how her world has dramatically changed since the right-wing political activist was shot and killed on September 10 at age 31.
During her first TV interview since Kirk’s death, Fox News’ Jesse Watters asked her what the most challenging part of her days has been since losing her husband.
“The nights are the hardest, being in a bed by yourself,” Erika said in a preview of the interview shared with Us Weekly. “Rolling over trying to [get a] goodnight kiss that’s not there.”
Kirk’s sudden death gained national attention after he was killed while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, as part of his American Comeback Tour. The alleged shooter, Tyler James Robinson, is facing multiple charges, including one count of aggravated murder. During a hearing on September 29, Robinson did not enter a plea, according toCBS News.
She told Watters, 47, that she tried to read a book by author C. S. Lewis that was written after the death of his wife, Joy Davidman, who died from metastatic carcinoma four years after they were married.
“He lost the love of his life — he was only married to her for four years,” she began. “In the opening pages, he talked about how angry he was with God, and I’ve never felt that. Never have I questioned, ‘Why, Lord, are you putting me through this?’ I know he uses everything, even what the enemy meant for evil. And I have no regrets.”
In another preview shared by Fox News, Erika — who shares two young children with her late husband — recalled what it was like seeing her husband in the hospital before he was pronounced dead that afternoon.
“He had this smirk on his face,” she said. “That smirk. That smirk to me is that look of ‘you thought you could stop what I’ve built. You thought that you could end this vision, this movement, this revival, you thought you could do that by murdering me. You got my body, you didn’t get my soul.’”
The full Jesse Watters Primetime interview will air Wednesday, November 5, at 8 p.m. ET on Fox News Channel.
