Charlie Kirk’s widow Erika was overcome with emotion while discussing how her two young children are dealing with the loss of their father in a preview for her upcoming Jesse Watters Primetime interview.
The political activist, 31, was shot and killed during his American Comeback Tour stop at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah on September 10, leaving Erika, 36, a single mom to their daughter, 3, and son, 1.
In the clip, Fox News’ Jesse Watters asks the Turning Point USA CEO if the kids still ask where their dad is, to which Erika replies that her eldest does. “But it’s really sweet because I keep explaining to her a few things,” she shared in the clip, posted on Wednesday, November 5. “And I said, ‘If ever you want to talk to daddy, you just look up to the sky and start talking to him. He can hear you.’”

The mental image brought Erika to tears.
“And I told her, I said, ‘You know, daddy, daddy is in heaven,’” she continued, wiping her eyes. “She goes, ‘You think I could go sometime?’ I said, ‘Baby, we will all go one day. We will all go one day.’”
Erika previously opened up during a September 12 press conference about the difficult conversations she’s had to have with her children in the days following her husband’s death.
“What do you tell a 3-year-old? She’s 3,” she lamented. “I said, ‘Baby, daddy loves you so much. Don’t you worry. He’s on a work trip with Jesus, so he can afford your blueberry budget.’”
