Andrew Garfield’s Clingy Behavior with Girlfriend Monica Barbaro Raising Red Flags: ‘He’s Obsessed’

Spider-Man hunk Andrew Garfield is hot and heavy with actress Monica Barbaro, but friends say the big-screen bug is incredibly clingy and they’re warning him to loosen his web and give the beauty space or risk driving her away like he did former galpals — including Easy A star Emma Stone.

The 41-year-old Hacksaw Ridge star could barely keep his hands off the 35-year-old A Complete Unknown Oscar nominee as they strolled along the beach in Malibu with her dog Augustus.

“Monica and Andrew have undeniable chemistry as a couple and they’re making firm plans for a future together, but 10 years ago you could say the exact same thing about Emma Stone,” says an insider.

“Andrew dives into relationships head-first and it becomes all-consuming. He’s so into Monica, he’s making plans with her even years in advance. He’s risking a lot with this all-in approach. It killed his previous relationships, and he keeps making the same mistake. It really is the perfect recipe for a broken heart.”

Andrew and Emma dated for several years after costarring in 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man, but split in 2015.

Other girlfriends have included actress Shannon Woodward, Rita Ora, Alyssa Miller and Phoebe Dynevor.

Andrew and Monica hooked up a few months ago after hitting it off at a party and became an item in February.

“He wants to spend every free minute with Monica and when he can’t, he’s constantly texting and calling her. He mopes around missing her,” says the insider.

“His friends think he’s obsessed with this relationship as with all the others and that he should ease up a little and give the girl some space. The fear is that it will turn Monica off, and Andrew will be left all alone.”
