Caleb Flynn — who got a golden ticket to Hollywood on season 12 of American Idol in 2013 — was arrested for allegedly murdering his wife, Ashley, on Thursday, February 19.
Ashley, 37, was found dead in her home in Tipp City, Ohio on Monday, February 16, according to local outlet WHIO TV7.
Authorities now believe Caleb, 39, shot his wife in the head and then staged the scene to look like a home invasion before calling for help, according to TMZ.
In his 911 call, Caleb explained that their daughters were asleep in their beds at the time of the shooting.
Caleb has been charged with one count of homicide, two counts of felonious assault, and two counts of tampering with evidence, according to WHIO TV7.

In an interview he gave on American Idol, Caleb, who was a music pastor at his church, gushed about his wife.
“I love my wife more than anything. She is very, very pretty,” he said, adding that if she “dyed her hair blonde, she would look just like” Idol winner Carrie Underwood.
