A 16-year-old Seattle boy is facing charges for allegedly shooting up a pizza parlor early Thursday, sending multiple people “running and ducking for their lives,” before trying to steal a rideshare car, police said.

The Seattle Police Department said officers responded to a report of a shooting on the 1400 block of 11th Avenue at around 1:40 a.m. Thursday. They arrived to find a pizza parlor “riddled with bullet holes.”

Investigators say a security guard at the location escorted an intoxicated teen out of the business where he had been drinking at the bar with friends, “presumed to be using a fake ID.” Security escorted the teen to a parked Maserati and he got into the backseat.

As the Maserati pulled away, the teen allegedly fired several shots through the back passenger window toward security guards who were still standing on the sidewalk along with others.

The shooting was captured on surveillance video, in which “five people can be seen narrowly escaping gunfire, running and ducking for their lives,” police said. No one was struck by gunfire, but “several” employees and customers were injured by shattered glass, police said.

Photos shared by the police department show bullet holes in the pizza parlor’s windows. Officers located the Maserati abandoned nearby with bullet damage and shell casings, and impounded it for evidence.

While processing the scene, officers spotted the drunken teen returning to the bar. He tried to flee when he saw the officers but he “tripped and fell to the ground,” and was taken into custody.

An Uber driver then approached police at the scene to report the same teen had attempted to steal his car at gunpoint, but he managed to drive away.

Officers searching the area located the gun believed to have been used in the incident.

The boy was “too intoxicated for booking” and was evaluated at a hospital before being booked into juvenile detention on charges of felony assault and robbery. Police said an additional weapons charge may be added after the investigation is complete.
