Traffic on a Tennessee highway was temporarily shut down over the weekend when a trailer full of fireworks caught fire, sending the explosives in all directions.
The Chattanooga Fire Department said it responded Saturday evening along with the Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department and law enforcement to a report of a vehicle fire on northbound Interstate 75, just past the Ooltewah exit.
They arrived to find the fire involved a trailer loaded with fireworks, which were “going off in different directions, endangering drivers,” the fire department said.
A video shared by the fire department shows a thick cloud of smoke billowing from the blazing trailer, along with sparkling fireworks.
Traffic was halted in both directions while fire crews extinguished the flames. No injuries were reported.
